Decoding Alzheimer's Online Forum
Pour yourself a cup of tea or coffee, and come and relax on any one of the four couches in the Living Room. This is a friendly space where you are encouraged to connect with others and share your thoughts about any way you’ve been touched by Alzheimer’s disease. Sometimes you may not want to talk about anything to do with Alzheimer’s at all. I understand that, and that’s fine too. The Living Room Social Couch is there for those times when you just want to chill out, share a laugh and a yarn, as we say here in Australia.

The Living Room online forum is open to everyone, but you must join the Living Room Community before you can post or reply to anything.

    • The Living with Alzheimer’s Couch
I'd like to particularly welcome anyone to the Living Room who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. This is the couch to connect with others experiencing the same journey as you, for companionship and to share anything related to living with Alzheimer's.

    • The Carers’ Couch
Caring for someone living with Alzheimer's is both rewarding and challenging. As a past carer for my mum who lived with the disease, I know what it's like to learn as you go and how important it is be able to speak with others in the same role. This couch is the place to share your own experiences and generally help each other with tips and advice.

    • The Living Room Social Couch
I understand that there will be times when you just want to chill and not even talk about anything related to Alzheimer's. This is the couch where you are welcome to chat about anything and just socialise with other members.

    • The Scientists’ Couch
If you work in Alzheimer's research or are just generally interested to talk about anything to do with the science, this is the couch for you. Discussion will focus on basic science, which is the research that helps us to try and understand the causes of Alzheimer's, and also the research that helps improve the lives of anyone living with the disease.

So where is everyone?

I’ve only just officially launched Decoding Alzheimer’s, so The Living Room is currently very quiet. Don’t be shy in being a newbie and one of the first visitors. Over the coming months as more people learn about this website I expect The Living Room to start buzzing with interesting and helpful conversations.

Please help me to grow the community so we can reach out to as many people as possible, by sharing Decoding Alzheimer’s with your family and friends.
